From my (limited) research, you need Samba client to connect to a MSWindows network - but there is currently no version for mipsel-linux i.e. OneT. I do not know what the One's networking client is but I suspect that it is some custom version of Samba

Thanx for the info, I'll go have a look round about Samba - didn't someone somewhere in all these (and other) forums mention that Samba was installed but not functioning?
