This is probably old news to most of you but I thought it might be worthwhile for those who are new to the Elonex experience-

http://www.littlelinuxlaptop.com/index.htm

Its a good source of software and games, just follow the instructions and away you go!

first... be shure, that you downloaded and installed the lib-SDL-complex http://www.skytone.net.cn/upload_file/sofeware/lib-SDL-complex-v01.zip
AND the Gameboard http://www.skytone.net.cn/en/download_file.php?dow_id=141!

Then open the MidnightCommander and copy the "gpe-appmgr.png"-file from /share/pixmaps/ to /usr/share/pixmaps

if it's done, you can start the gameboard with "gpe-appmgr" (use gRun -Launch Application)
You can also create an link in the /etc/jwm/JWMRC to the /bin/gpe-appmgr application... that should looking like this;

...
Code: [Select]
<Program icon="game-board2.png" label="Gameboard">/bin/gpe-appmgr</Program>

SDLs
« Reply #8 on: March 14, 2009, 08:29:43 PM »
for some reasons the SDL complex was not enough for me to run it successfully (using on default OS),
I have also had to install further SDL patches (SDL image, etc,I have just installed them all anyway,to make it sure). I had to transfer that file ( gpe-appmgr.png ) too.

LinCity
« Reply #10 on: August 05, 2009, 09:25:16 AM »
Hey,
I installed LinCity this morning (from http://3mx.taita.co.uk/ ),but can't get it work. :-\ It flashes up (black background) for  a second and an error message comes up :"The application you start encounters an error".   ??? I have no idea what the problem could be.
I am using the default OS on Elonex OneT+.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Levi

I pretty sure it's Matchbox's fault. Some apps/games crash because matchbox forces apps/games to fit the screen, and some of them don't like being forced to a different window size than what was intended. Works fine on 3MX and Etch. :)
