Charging a CNM Book with Solar Panel

Hi everyone,

I was thinking of Charging my CNM Book with a Solar Panel, has anyone ever tried this or actually done it already? I'm located in the UK and was looking at Maplins or ebay for solar panels. Then I could just leave the little beast running all the time without using any power from the mains or on remote locations but one thing I was thinking of, how would the night time bit work. Could I put in a bigger battery and charge that?

Even want to one day try do this with my Windows Desktop machine, I wonder if that'll ever work..

Any info would be lovely or comments.

I have been thinking about it,but since my elonex cant be charged at all (contact problem) its out of the question. I was in Maplin too,and have  seen these solar panels too,even talked to staff. But I am sure u cant use it for desktop,let alone laptops of bigger size.
smaller devices-maybe.

Thanks for the input folks, I was just thinking to connect a solar panel direct to the power outlet, when it gets some sun it will charge.

Or

Connect a larger battery (more capacity) up to the 9v 1.5 watt power input jack that has enough juice to power the laptop for a while and the solar panel just charges this battery when it can.

Any comments on this, as I ask why would I need to have a complex circuit board as pictured in that previous post or thread on the other forum?

If you do get anything out of Maplins it might be worth putting it towards a Freeloader system

I use one it powers the notebook with no problems so far.
