Just apt-get install mplayer. Debians mplayer is very slow and unusable on these machines however.

Yeah i remember i had that issue also. I do believe that libts is installed, just in the wrong directory for some odd reason. Search /lib for it and copy it to /usr/lib or vise versa. But as i said, there is no point installing it. It doesn't work well.

Cheers.

I took libts-0.0.so.0 of 3MX distribution, put it in ./ lib and create a symbolic link. Works!

It is necessary to encode in the format mpg in two passes, then the video+sound is well!

No problem. Please read this post though since etch package repositories are no longer maintained by debian. You will need to change the package repository url to the one posted in the link.

http://trendtac.hyves.nl/forum/4742568/TveF/Debian_mipsel_etch_support/

You dont have to it his way. Simply adding deb http://www.securehost.com/mirror/debian/etch main contrib to /etc/apt/sources.lst and commenting out or removing the old package feed should work fine. Then run apt-get update to refresh the package listing.

Cheers.
