 Topic designed only to look into the problem some people encounter when wanting to install a 3mx or so on their LLL : F3 key doesn't boot the recovery. Why s that? Depends on distribution of the machine? Post your questions and answers here.

just make sure you press it immediately after turning the laptop on.

Afaik F3 is handled by the kernel. So if your system doesn't support it you can try another kernel. For booting a different kernel other keys are used, which are handled by uBoot: http://projects.kwaak.net/twiki/bin/view/Epc700/UbootStuff#Possible_boot_options
