VPN for the Small Linux Laptop

Has anyone had any luck compiling OpenVPN or any other Linux VPN application for this version of Linux? if i could get that running with a wireless broadband dongle http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/index.php/topic,58.0.html then this becomes a very useful little laptop!
