WAP and INFO files
« on: July 27, 2009, 11:01:42 PM »
Please explain to me what WAP and INFO files are, and how they are compiled or written.  Is this a special software program, or can they be created from other software languages and compilers.

What if there is a particular program you want to use and it is written in C.  How do you load this on to the minibook?

frustrated>:(

OOOOPS!!!!   I got it wrong.  The installation files are *.XAP and *.INFO.   Both are required to install a program on a CnM Minibook or Little Linux Laptop.

So how does one write a program or compile code for a xap files?

Ewww, gawd. This is covered in the forum somewhere in the depths. An extensive search should retrieve the thread - the search function on this forum is quite good.

Oh dear, sorry chaps.  Will do a search as directed.  Did try once before, but obviously used the wrong search words. Apologies  :-[

Hi terrykiow, just did a search myself and for some reason the search function doesn't seem to want to play at releasing the answer.  ??? The full how-to-do is in there somewhere though!

I did briefly go through Software and OS Mods section, but bet it'll be under a name not relative to the info. It must have been about two months ago, so perhaps look for that manually and where there are a few replies.

Hope that helps!

PS, I think it may be worth changing the title to be .XAP and not WAP? Also, let us know where you find the info please :)  EDIT!: See next post.

Best of luck!

Think this should explain it OK:

http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/index.php/topic,113.0.html

and scav created an automated Python script here:

http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/index.php/topic,382.0.html

They're both under Software & OS Modifications, Alternative Distributions > Development

Now.... enjoy!  ;)
