The Dingoo guys provide a overclocking application which can push the CPU up to 430MHz - unfortunately, it's no a linux binary, but the source comes with it.

Would it be worth investigating though? It could make a hellova differance. If i knew how, it would try it, but i don't. I can see where Utd_Grant is comming from though.

Have you had any luck? 100MHZ might not seem like a lot, when when were talking a third of our processing power added, its quite significant.

Power consumption is proportional to the square of the clock speed, as is heat to dissipate.  But I understand that the processor is a 400Mhz run at 330Mhz to conserve battery time.  Are we missing a trick here.  The battery monitor automatically shows when the box is mains attached so a trigger to switch to 400Mhz when attached should be simple.

Step one: identify the code used to monitor the battery level
Step two: obtain the source
Step three: identify the mechanism used to under-clock ( several are published)
Step four: embed calls to speed up when mains is detected and slow down when on battery.
Step 5: recompile
