Can anyone recommend a version of Freecell (yes, I've deleted LLK - it wasted FAR too much time!) that I can download wihout getting a raft of other games? Oh yes, it's for a basic CmNBook

I'd suggest Ace of Penguins. Its lightweight, and looks rather nice. Grab it here: http://www.freeshells.ch/~wicked74/alpha400/packages/games/  or here: http://3mx.taita.co.uk/

It doesn't create a desktop icon however. Run it from xterm ' /usr/games/ace_freecell ' or create a desktop icon for it.

Cheers.

Downloaded and installed it, but it says it also wants libcards.so.1. Where do  I get that?

2 ways to fix that. A) install the ld.so.conf patch and then run ' ldconfig ' from xterm, or B) copy/move these files to /lib (they installed to /usr/lib) with mc.

/usr/lib/libcards.so.1
/usr/lib/libcards.so.1.0.0
/usr/lib/libcards.a

The correct way is to install the ld.so.conf patch, but moving/copying those files to /lib wont harm anything.

Cheers.

Grateful thanks. I've just had the first of many happy wasted half-hours.
