Software Listing (Links Only)
« on: March 27, 2009, 01:10:14 PM »
This thread is strictly for the posting of links to software known to work on the LLL (Little Linux Laptop)
When Posting Links please can you include:

Name: Tsclient
Description:Alternative to VNC & Remote Desktop Protocol
Tested on: RC2.1
Name of package maker: Duttydea
Link: http://www.filefactory.com/file/af6a696/n/TsClient_zip

Notes:
Please can users of RC1.1 & the Default OS test this out please?

Default Users can start TsClient by calling "tsclient" from the xterm screen.

If all goes well I will repackage up with desktop icon for the Default OS.

Enjoy

This is great, we need to have a single repository for all the programs that work on the LLL.

Most forums, when the initial poster says This thread is strictly for the posting of links to software known to work on the LLL (Little Linux Laptop) it does mean posting of links only. So far two thirds have been non posts.

Mine too I suppose, but only to stop a good idea from becoming one word posts.

Guys, it's usual to keep to the original poster's ideas. i.e.strictly for the posting of links.

Good point. :D

Anyway, i know i linked it a few times, but everything on my site also works. Anything not in a specific folder should work on the default OS. The rc1, rc2 and rc3 folders are release specific. In other words packages in rc3 folder will not work on anything other than rc3.

http://3mx.taita.co.uk

Just uploaded some more packages.... ace of penguins (game)... lincity (game)... xfishtank (screensaver)... centerim (messenger)... elinks (text www browser)... iceweasel (browser)... ruby (programming language)... and sablevm (java virtual machine).

Note sablevm only works with rc3 currently. Install it, then open a terminal and cd /usr/bin , then ln -s java-sablevm java ,and ln -s jar-sablevm jar ,then reboot. You now have a java enabled minibook.  ;)

Cheers.

Just uploaded irssi (irc client)... naim (console aim, icq, irc and lily client)... perl-5.8.8 (programming language)... and rox-filer (file manager). Also repacked sablevm so all the linking is already done for you so you can ignore my previous post about it.

I already made a package of TSClient and Xterm, but it seems other people were first :)
Anyway, on the Elonex OS, people can start the TSClient application in the tab "Other".

It's called Terminal Server in there, in the tsclient.desktop file, they say it should be "Terminal Server Client" but that probably didn't fit on the screen :P
