Segmentation Fault on Midnight Commander and $ ls
« on: July 07, 2010, 06:25:24 AM »
Hi,

I'm getting 'segmentation fault' when I look at some directories in MC. e.g. /lib, but when I look at it using the GUI Filemanager ( I use the /all symlink in Extend_1 ) its OK.

I also found that I am getting the same using $ls ./lib

What have I done!

TIA

Paul

Default OS? If so the included busybox crashes when using ls /lib (would also explain mc crashing in /lib). Might also happen in Retro. Should be fine in all other 3MX versions though as i replaced the broken busybox binary.

Cheers.

Hi Wicknik,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes its the default OS.

Can I just copy the busybox binary from your 3MX disti to the /bin directory to fix this?

Still using the LLL on a daily business. Not seen anything to beat it for size and portability.

Sadly no it isn't that easy. Busybox is loaded and in use right after boot up so it can't be replaced by copying/removing. About the only way to fix the issue is install Ultra3 or my Debian Etch.img. Unless you need the ability to print i see no other reason to use the old outdated default OS.

Cheers
