Help configure 'working samba' to connect to vista
« on: April 25, 2010, 10:12:14 PM »
I have been trying to get samba working in 3MX. Using smb commander I can see Vista computers and can connect easily to my other linux PC. Vista keeps saying access denied altough adding the vista password etc opens up the next level but these are not kept. Originaly this project started in the forum Re: Anyone working on a 3MX SMB/SAMBA client? at http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/index.php?action=post;msg=6053;topic=873.0;sesc=2d03222bae251965432ff9903d180cd1.
But I need other users to try out my xaps and also help with smb.conf so hopefully starting this thread to attract more interest. I can't check with 98 to Xp etc since I have no access to these windows OS. I have made a web page with my files at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/higgybees/xaps/samba/index.html .
