Pidgin updates download error
« on: February 26, 2010, 12:57:06 AM »
Hi, Just a note about a problem with the links on your site Wicknix.
I downloaded all the additional software in the 3MX-Ultra folder except for the new Pidgin.
When I download these it actual saves a link to the server and not the files.
Clicking these gives a response that I do not have permission to access the server.
Is there any chance of fixing this soon as I seemed to have creamed the original some how.
Trying to add accounts gives a blank box when trying to pick the protocols i.e yahoo etc.
No protocols.
This is the only thing that I can't use at the moment.
The ultra release is awesome, I did add iceweasel because it works for reading Facebook site better although I have to use Bon Echo to download from your site as iceweasel just doesnt seem to allow it.
Thanks again for the distro Wicknix,
Fred

Hey thanks. Yeah i restricted the access to pidgin 2.6.5 as it appears to be broken. Once i fix it i'll make the links for it work again.

The good news however is that i'm updating ultra to include all those extra packages in the ultra downloads folder, a tweaked firefox/bon echo (works better with facebook now), facebook chat plugin added to pidgin, extra mime types added, fixed some missing application icons and cleaned up a few things. It wont be 'advertised' as a new release or anything, just going to upload it with the same name. Look for it in a day or 2. Unfortunately that means you'd have to reinstall however.

Cheers.

Thanks Wicknix,
I will be looking forward to the new release.  Re-install not a major problem. It will be nice to only need 1 browser. As I say brilliant distro and keeps getting better each time. Any chance of adding a recycle bin for those times when mistakes are made. Also could ipradio be on list of apps. Cheers. Fred
