How to add Russian keyboard layout for typing in AbiWord

Dear members,

I am looking for solution how on my CnM Minibook V70 to be able to type in russian in AbiWord.
Any reasonable solution is acceptable. In ideal it would be like in Windows you press Alt+Shift and
typing language switches... The main purpose is typing in AbiWord everything else is not so important.

I will appreciate if there is an installation "cab" or something like that. If no, than detailed (for noobies)
instruction is acceptable.
