german keyboard layout and some settings
« on: May 02, 2009, 02:42:05 PM »
Hi,
I finally got my LLL, it's the german version branded by JAY-tech with a german keyboard layout.
But I encountered a quiet nasty issue: The default English layout doesn't expose all special keys on the keyboard and some keys are not mapped or mapped wrong in the German layout. E.g. AltGr has no effect, as well as Shift+AltGr.
The following keys are swapped:
[ü] and [`]
[Break] and [Ins]
[ä] and [ #]
(I was a bit more confused at first as vte doesn't support unicode)
EDIT: Fixed, changed the xmodmap.de a bit - still I wonder why the I have to load this manually (I edited the one on /share/xmodmap/xmodmap.de) and set the XkbLayout to de in xorg.conf

Is it possible to set up keyboard shortcuts like alt+f4, alt+tab and alt+left/right in jwm to close windows and switch windows and desktops?
Edit: I finally have read some jwm manpages and set this up  ;)

Is it intentional that the MagicSysRq isn't working?
And how to disable tapping if that's possible, it's much too sensitive.
