Does Napster work a bit like Spotify? Do we type any music in the searchpane and we can play them straight if they were on our hard drive?

If it's like the Napster of old (used to use it about seven or eight years ago  ;) ) you have to use their own supplied program to be able to download in the first place, and also to be able to hear the tune as it's downloading.... a la Blubster.

Ok, here goes. This will be the last 3MX release ever ...

Wicknix,

I wouldn't want to seem too pedantic but if this is the last release ever, shouldn't it be called 3MX Version 1.0 (or 3MX 95 :-)), rather than 3MX RC3.0 (or RC3.1)?

The napster client works like the 'original' napster, or xnap, or opennap, etc. You simply connect to a server (which it does automatically) then search for whatever you want and download the files. Simple. :D

Cheers.

2 more additions to the upcoming 'unofficial' 3MX-rc3.1 release.

Netsurf web browser. Small, lightweight, decent browsing speed (some sites fast, others sort of slow), decent rendering, and it allowed me to log in to this website and make a post.

And ayttm a GUI multiprotocol instant messenger. Everything seems to work (aol, icq, yahoo, jabber, irc) except for msn.  :-\  But centerim is still included for msn, or you could use a jabber transport to get msn working on ayttm.

Also fixed the taskbar clock to display 12h format w/AM/PM instead of 24h military time.

Cheers

Is there a package for Bon Echo (FF2) or a way to install it on releases of 3mx other than 1.1?

Also, will netsurf be about the same as Bon Echo was in terms of speed?

Thanks,

monoreille: Launch it directly from command line ' /opt/firefox/bin/firefox ' or add that line to jwmrc.

ak87: No bon echo wont be available as it doesn't even work on rc2/rc3. It segfaults when trying to run it. Netsurf claims to be small and lightweight (which it is) but speed seems so so. I cant say for sure how fast it is or isn't as i'm on a slow gprs/edge connection via my cellphone. If you want speed use dillo or elinks.

Cheers
