This Resolves one of the issues i reported on http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/index.php/topic,410.0.html

It's no biggy. Might just be hard coded into the mkxap and mkpatch scripts to look in /bin ?
I've never tried using those scripts on the minibook. Always made them on my desktop.

Cheers.

EDIT: Just realized a dumb error in my jwmrc file. In the utilities folder i have 'tabbed terminal'. When you run it, its all black. I forgot to set foreground color to gray, so the background and text is black.  :-\
Edit /etc/jwm/jwmrc and add -fg gray so it looks like this:
mrxvt -fn 6x12 -bg black -fg gray

WPA-Wireless-Network-fix (!)
now i have an solution for the known problem with WPA-secured connections, that doesn´t work  8)
Copy the 3 files inside the .zip-archive to /sbin - overwrite existing files! And your WPA-WLAN should work  ;D
wpa-fix.zip

I am unable to create an self-executing patchfile, so you have to copy manualy with MitnightCommander...

To the end a little (silly?) Question by me;
How to autostart the desktop without manual login?

I package it up!!
http://www.filefactory.com/file/af5466d/n/WPA-R3-01_20090315_rar
Instructions:

I have a 128mb SD Card I use just for creating packages..

Download this to the USB or SD http://www.xs4all.nl/~jostht/epc/mkxap Right click and "save as"

I created a folder called sbin

Extract the wpa files to the sbin folder

Then in XTerm type:

cd /SD/SD_1 or cd /USB/USB_1 Navigates to your SD Card or USB

Enter

./mkxap wpafix usr Creates an installer starting wpafix and including sbin Folder

Enter

You should now have 2 files on your SD Card Or USB
WPA-R3-01(20090315).info  - Not Needed In RC2 & 2.1
WPA-R3-01(20090315).xap - Is the Installer

Hope it helps!!  ;)

I'm still looking into an easy way for people to do that. I personally didn't like the idea of auto login. I like being able to password lock my systems (create a blank file named 'shadow' and place in /etc if you want to use a password, then run 'passwd user' to create a new password).
Also if the desktop should crash or hang while messing around trying things its good to be able to boot to console so you can fix the errors with a console editor/filemanager like mc. If it auto booted in X11 and it hung you'd be stuck with reflashing as your only hope.

And hey great news on WPA fix! I'm sure a few people will be happy to hear this.  ;D

Cheers

Great minds think alike eh muffe? At 12 O'Clock in england yesterday i found that out! :D you saved me the work of posting it. i did let people know on the IRC channel though so its all gooood! ::) Just so this isnt an empty post, i will be making a set of RC 2.1 themes. Now the amount of personalisation that could go in to it (task bar icons, autohide, full change copy incl. menu, half with just the colours) i will be making a set of each colour. So for Green theme, i will be realsing one with autohide and with out auto hide. Also, (in the .zip file) will be instructions on how to keep your menu tinkers but change the colour.

Not to patronise but now i will only be working on 2.1 themes because 1.1 is now useless to me because WPA is working. So the instructions are for 1.1 users who want the theme colours.

This has been my first experiance with linux, the LLL. Now i have installed it on the laptop that came with M$.!

Thanks for the WPA fix for 2.1 Muffe, that's what was stopping me moving over to it from 1.1. So exactly what was the problem causing WPA not to work?

Also, Seagull, thanks for all the work you're doing with the themes! Looking forward to em! But if you're working on them at school shouldn't you really be doing maths or chemistry or biology schoolwork ?  ;D

Legend Duttydea! I will get that after school tonight ::) the network wont let me download it from school.

And shush Unhban... what the teachers dont know doesnt hurt them :D

Now i can answer your questoin. There were three files in /sbin that had changed size and became pretty much usless. The WPA could make a .conf and a .pid file to gain accsess in /tmp. But in RC1.1 these files DID make the .pid and .conf.

Thats my take on it. Its probably all wrong but alas.

I have a Dark and Light Blue theme that is so nearly completed. Just need to fix a few colours that look ugly. Also I will be uploading themes with new icons in the start menu to begin with. I got some nice 16 by 16 icons. If some one could teach me to pack it up i will make themes auto install i.e no moving icons. For now you will need to move the icons from the zip to the /share/icons(?). I am quite pleased with what i could do. So now instead of making a round 6 themes with differant colours i can make a hell of a lot of themes :D so every one is happy
