Extra Packages
« on: February 15, 2009, 10:06:15 PM »
Most of the stuff found here is already in 3MX, but for people who cant use it or prefer the stock OS some of these will come in handy.

Also as time and life permits i'll continue to add updates, patches, and other applications here.

I'm trying to make use of lsusb, can we use sudo apt-get for installing this.

Or is there an app out there.

It's a way of discovering what usb devices are connected to the notebook, I may have found a way to access the net using my mobile and cable.

Tried to install the newsreader pan, but when I run the program it say an error occurred.
When I launch it through xterm, it says it requires libgmime-2.0.so.2 shared libraries.
Anyone know which other packages I need to install or is it unable to run through the standard os.

Thanks for any help.

Didn't Xgalaga require those also?
My Xgalaga doesn't run though, even with all the SDL stuff installed  :(

For default OS users i have a new package for you all. Transmission bittorrent client. Its an older version ( 3mx rc2 has newer version) but it works. Only issue is that selecting the preferences dialog crashes it. By default it downloads to /root which means when the file is done you will need to move it with xterm+mc to 'my documents' in order to view it under the default OS's file manager.

For 3MX-rc1 users you can start it using the run prompt by typing transmission-gtk

A newer version thats fully working (no prefs crash) is in the upcoming 3MX-rc2 release already.

Cheers.
