screen goes white when alpha 400 turned on. pease help

i ave a t-alpha 400. i was trying to install the new os on it and when i hit ctr+-shift+r-shift. the screen went white and now when ever i turn it on it just immediately goes to a  white screen? any thoughts?

also have a question about a web cam? this laptop is for my 9 year old daughter and she lives in sf and i live in mn. so hopefully we can see each other via cam chat.

any help would be great!!!!!!
