Boot up from external SD card?
« on: September 08, 2008, 09:54:56 AM »
I'm not toally clueless with Linux but still call myself a beginner, but think that it would be possible to mod a file so it gives you a choice of booting up with the internal OS, or a distro on the external SD card?

The only problem to me is that of the wifi?

David.

To boot from USB/SD Card (from the Elonex Support Site):

"Copy the files to your USB flash drive or SD card. Then with your ONEt turned off insert the USB or SD card.

Press the Fn + Shift +  F1 keys at the same time while turning on your ONEt."

HTH!

Hi

Remember that you need to use an OS that runs on a little endian MIPS processor, so it needs to specifically compiled for that target. If you find one, or several, let us know.

BTW, I'm looking for a simulator to try to get the Elonex dsktop on my PC, no luck so far (closest I've got is qemu with a mipsel kernel, but couldn't do anything else with it - yet.
