disappearing icons
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:21:29 AM »
Hello
I bought a CnM minibook yesterday and am very pleased with it. I downloaded two games from the CnM website (XGalaga and Xmahjong) and installed no problem. I later changed the desktop theme, whereupon the shortcuts to the games disappeared. I've changed the theme back, and restarted the machine but the shortcuts are still missing. I can still
see the applications listed as "current installed" under  Software Installer.

Is there something obvious I'm missing, or do I need to uninstall and reistall?
Thanks for any help
Norman

Thanks. I got a reply from CnM support that said just reinstall (no need to remove first) and it worked fine. They explained that the icons disappeared when I changed theme because there were no equivalent icons for the new theme. (You'd think they'd have tested that and set it to maintain the exisitng icons in the absence of equivalent ones). It also doesn't really explain why the icons didn't reappear when I reverted the theme. But hey the fix was easy and if that's the only problem I run into with this thing... 8)

Thanks for your help

My son changed the theme of our Onet+ tonight and all the icons and tabs have disappeared.  Does anyone have a clue as to how to get them back so the laptop can be used again?  I've tried the software reset (button at back of Onet+) but that didn't work.
